Looking for a Rickards White clone

I followed the exact recipe when I brewed this. It was close, but not enough. The grain bill was pretty close, though I would put a lot more Wheat malt (maybe flakes too I haven't tried). The carapils is off if you ask me. Crystal 20 or 40 would do a better job. Also, the hardest part in this is...

    Mad jack apple lager

Hey guys! I'm looking for any kind of information you can give me on this beer. It's hard to find something online. Does the apple taste come from actual apple, or cider, or juice? I have no experience brewing with apple and so I'm looking for the most intense smell and taste of apples in this...

    Blonde too sweet

I did a bit using a higher AA hop at 60 min with the same quantities but I guess it didnt do the job well enough. Thanks a lot! I didnt think it could be as easy as this.. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Bleach to sanitize

I still use bleach very often for my equipment. When a batch finishes fermenting or secondary, I just rinse a bit with water and a gentle scrub and put in a bleach solution for a couple days, then rinse and use starsan before reusing. I find its the easiest and laziest way to do it. Everyone...

    Blonde too sweet

Hi guys! I brewed a couple months ago the cream of 3 crops from this forum using 2-row, corn and rice. I wanted to have it stronger so I used 8lbs of 2-row, 2.5 lbs of corn and 1lb of rice. The ABV got somewhere between 6.8-7% (FG: 1.010). I loved this beer and I am planning to make it again. I...

Next step after broken bottle washer

http://www.amazon.com/Fermtech-Double-Blast-Bottle-Washer/dp/B001D6DR0U It's this cheap thing... I would like to buy anything really solid. I would pay a lot for a good one lol. The part that broke is the plastic that attach the tube and the adapter. It is not replaceable..

    Thoughts on adding cucumber.

Hey guys, would'nt it be much easier to infuse the cucumber in the preboil water? It's just a thought but it could actually work... thoughts?

Next step after broken bottle washer

I only have 4 kegs right now and I still will bottle the specialty beers that I make and that I drink less often. I bought the dual washer and the *(#@)%*! thing broke in about 10 uses. What do you guys use to wash bottles easily and quickly. Most importantly, something that would not break as...

    Not sure what I did....

I don't understand why you added one more gallon of water? This will drop even more the ABV to like 2%

    Tea!!!

I tried 3 times with mint tea and green tea. My opinion is that it is very very hard to know how the tea will react with the beer type and how long you should leave it in secondary. I wanted to try a very light mint flavor in a stout I made a while back. I finally forgot the single tea bag in a...

    Carbonating a stout...

I tried this recipe before. I added 100g of dextrose for about 18L and had a very nice carbonation. You should not waste some beers right now. I got the peek taste and carb at around 2 months for this. Be patient my friend

    Moving Carboys during fermentation

The only problem you might encounter would be to drop the carboy and BOOM, no more beer.

    Oak chips use

Hey all, I did a couple times the same recipe now and I would like to try something different with it. It's a medium to sweet stout. I bought a couple oz of oak chips and now I'm wondering what exactly should I do with them. How much should I put in a 1 gallon test batch? I must say the beer is...

    Seal for Cold crashing?

Well, some people might get over protective towards their beer :). The important thing to understand here is that oxidation happens mostly when you shake the beer and get a high contact with air or when it sits open for a long period of time. Especially when you coldcrash, you are not leaving it...

    Seal for Cold crashing?

You can leave it open just enough to let the pressure equalize. Chances to get an infection over a 1/16inch opening is fairly small

    Raspberry wheat FIX!

It is very very hard to say like this! Looks like shaking bubbles to me... I would keep an eye on these bottles. Let's say the fermentation finishes a bit more in there, you might have quite a surprise ;)
