    Motorized JSP Maltmill Station

I'll be documenting the build of my milling station here. I started with a barebones JSP Maltmill with hardened core rollers, direct wheel drive, and adjustable rollers on one side. Since it's barebones, it didn't come with hopper. So I went down to the hardware store and bought...

    Cab Sav Infected

Looking like I took a sample when I was a bit tipsy and must have let some bacteria in. It was looking fine for 8 months and now this. I didn't taste it yet. Wanted to get some advice before I opened it. What to do? I haven't done a whole lot of wine.

    Thermocouple Type What?

I purchased a temp probe that has a 10k NTC sensor. I want to use this on my Omega CN7800 PID. What type is this? Here are my options. I chose k but the temp seems way off and many seem to go backwards. It's late and I have a brain fart. Help is appreciated.

    Jimmy's 15 Gallon eBIAB Build

I sold most of my jimmy-rigged 3v propane w/ RIMS setup to gather funds for this build. I'm going from 10 gallon to 5 gallon batches too so I can have more flexibility to do varying batches without tying up too many fermenters/kegs. I also moved into a new home where the previous owners built...

Need some recommendations on what to do to this plain old grain alcohol

Need some ideas. Some genius in the marketing department at work bought a bunch of cases of this to hand out to customers. They thought it was Kentucky Bourbon. Lol. It's obviously not Oaked and tasted like distilled grain alcohol would. Needless to say, they did not want to pass them out...

    Grain score at LHBS

Stopped in today to stock up on some malts and someone backed out on a small grain order. Owner offered it at 50% of the base grain cost. $5.45 Time to make a blonde with some Cascade and Amarillo fermented with Pacman. $10 batch, here I come! Time to test out my new Wilserbag! Cheers.

    Thoughts on high level eBIAB

The overview: I am an all-grain brewer that does 10 gallon batches using 2 kegs and a cooler. The keggles are heated via propane. I currently fly sparge, have a RIMS tube for mashing, a trub filter, immersion chiller, and oxygenation tube, 2 pumps, and PID control panel for pumps and RIMS. I...

    Spring Season Honey

Who can help me obtain a 10-15 lb batch of a spring honey? Something from the black locust blossom or even the sage blossom would be preference. This may be hard to get this late in the season but figured I would see who knows some beekeepers. A bottle of agave mead is your reward.

Process Q's of brewing and canning starter wort

I am brewing 8 gallons of starter wort. My plan is to mash and boil for 15 to 20 minutes to gain hot break. After that I will be putting into half-gallon Mason jars. I won't have time to put these in my canner until this evening. My question is should I chill before putting into the mason jars?

RIMS and Pumps in a toolbox

Here is my interpretation of the whole toolbox thing. I still use propane so this is to augment that and help me gain consistency with my mash. I always used gravity before this as well so I am excited to give this a first go over the weekend. It's a 20amp system, all stainless ULD 220...

    Filter/Oxygenate/Ferment

Ok, maybe I got a little carried away here but I felt the need to. Since I ferment in Sanke's under pressure, I thought it would be cool to mock up a contraption to filter and oxygenate the wort in one step while dumping into the fermenter. What do you think?

    Omega CN7832 and SSR Wiring

I ended up with an Omega CN7832 for free from my father and want to use it to control my RIMS setup. I have a SSR40DA but not sure where the control wiring should come from on the 7832. Should I wire pins 1 & 2 on the PID to 3 & 4 of the SSR respectively?

    Corny Keg Post Q

I got a couple corny kegs and one has post is having problems screwing the post in. I used a small SS brush to clean the threads but no luck. Yes, I am screwing to the gas inlet. I have a spare liquid one that screws fine so I am assuming that I should be fine to use that while I order a new...
