    trying to make some wine

Good to know, I'll just get the 5 gallon kit. One more thing, I was talking to a wisky rep at my liquor store, and he told me whisky stops aging when you take it out of the barrell. With wine, does it have to stay in the secondary to age, or can the flavors develop more in the bottle? How...

    Need an idea

    Need an idea

So I just brewed a RIS with double black whiskey and hazelnut coffee beans. It's in bottles, and will remain untasted until September. But my next experiment is a Nut Brown Ale. I am kinda stumped on what to add here, maybe caramel, or mint? I don't know, any ideas? Thanks!

    Coffee beans...

Yeah the beer is just sitting in the secondary right now, the whiskey chips have been in there for about 2 weeks. They are in a cheese cloth. All I want out of it is a hazelnut flavor. Or should I just add Frangelico?

    Coffee beans...

So I am brewing a russian imperial stout. I added wood chips soaked in whiskey. I want to now add hazelnut coffee beans. How would I go about adding them (crush them up, turn them to liquid?) Thanks!

    Brewing a Russian Imperial Stout

Was also thinking about going with hazelnut coffee beans in the secondary with the cocoa and the double back whiskey. Still good?

    Brewing a Russian Imperial Stout

Hey, Just picked up a kit to brew this. Thinking of adding some wood chips soaked in J W double black whiskey, and a tiny bit of chocolate as well into the secondary after about a month in the primary. Thoughts? Thanks!
