Weird, have you tried contacting them? I've had a ton of brews using mine without that issue. I did tear a little hole on the thermowell with some force, and they sent me a patch that helped fix it. To me, it's well worth the $30.

Can't speak to the negative customer service as I didn't experience any of that, but my 10 gallon BruGear kettle is still going strong after nearly 2 years. No rust, no issues with anything other than the logo being worn off a bit. Super tempted to order another vessel or two while they're on...

How often are you stirring? I'm wondering if more stirring would help with the temp difference at the wall versus the center?

I had an issue with these at one point, and from a suggestion on here I used teflon tape to help seal it up. Never done me wrong since I started doing that. Worth a try.

Finally brewed with this! Kept it in the garage without any sort of temp control (I don't have any anyway), and a Maui winter is typically in the 70s. The beer taste great initially, pretty clean. I'll update when it's carbonated and ready to drink.

Have any tips for adding a motor to the mill? Instead of having a drill permanently affixed to it, I think I'd like to go the route you did.

I use both tri-clamp and camlock at work, and enjoy both. I guess I should have stated that I hate using anything with threads. I was piecing together a camlock/tri-clamp setup for my current equipment that I could use with whatever custom setup I get in the next few months.

I would have had one of the 10 gallons when they first launched if they had tri-clamp. I just don't know if I can ever go back from those.
