    Fermentation???

No, not yet! Plan to this evening though! Thanks. Makes sense! That's the one TRUE way to know where your beer is really at! Cheers!

    Fermentation???

So, I did a Milkstout almost 3 weeks ago. I popped the lid to see how it was coming cuz I never witnessed a ton of action in my air lock. This is what it looked like. There is some evidence on the side that some bubbling probably took place, but just doesn't seem like a lot happened here...

    Imperial Pale Ale fermenting question

Recently did a imperial pale ale! Fermentation went well and has been in for about 2 1/2 weeks. Based on previous posts and feed back from other posts, I was going to leave this in fermenter for about 3 maybe even 4 weeks. Is that a fair assumption or should I bottle this weekend! Final ABV...

    Too Much Carb!

It fermented for over 4 weeks and checked gravity 3 times the last week 2 days between each check and gravity never changed, so I'm pretty confident fermentation was done. But maybe not.....

    Too Much Carb!

It was an extract kit so I used the priming sugar provided!

    Too Much Carb!

So I'm now drinking my first two brews! A Russian Imperial Stout and a standard IPA! The RIS is awesome and so is the IPA, but the IPA has a crazy carbonated head to every bottle so far! Any suggestions on why the head is so strong and the carbonation and crazy head??

    Extract IPA Cloudy w/ Sediment

Good call! The beer itself, though not carbonated yet, tastes really good! Thanks.

    Extract IPA Cloudy w/ Sediment

So I just bottled my IPA and I noticed that there was way more sediment coming through the siphon then unexpected when transferring to bottling bucket! Beer seemed a tad darker/cloudier then expected! Noticed too my bottling wand was getting clogged! ??????

    Bottle Caps

Can I boil the bottle caps to sanitize? Or should I just throw them in the dishwasher? Or can I rinse them with StarSan solution? Thanks!

Ok! Wha'ts going on! Or, what is not going on?

Yes, I think I will go straight to bottle! I have a glass carboy that allows for minimal headspace and that was my original plan, but I think I'll just bottle it and let it sit! Thanks!

Ok! Wha'ts going on! Or, what is not going on?

Or maybe I'll just go straight to bottle and let it sit til December!

Ok! Wha'ts going on! Or, what is not going on?

As it turns out, the yeast I used was dead! I pitched in again and.........whamo! That stuff was going crazy!! Moving over to Carboy this weekend and gonna let it sit until December 1....then bottle and hopefully enjoy a few weeks later!! Selenite!

    Bottling question!!!

How long should the bottles sit before consumption? I'm more than ok to wait....just want a good finished product! Thanks!

    Bottling question!!!

Yes! I think that would be the best! Thanks for the info! Cheers!

    Bottling question!!!

I'm a newbie at this and I'm unfamiliar with carb drops! I didn't have another bucket for fermenting and was told that you could use the bottling bucket and then transfer to bottles at the right time! I think I will transfer it to a glass carboy, let it sit, and then bottle it! Thanks!

    Bottling question!!!

I have a 5 gallon carboy that I can transfer to. I think maybe that would be the best solution. It's been in primary for 3 weeks! After I transfer to the carboy, how long would you leave it there for?

    Bottling question!!!

I have an IPA that I put to fermentation in my bottling bucket......sealed up nice and tight! Checked a reading today and its ready to bottle! Noticed some floating hops and what not in the beer! Will these clog the pour spout when I go to bottle! Thanks for your feedback. Cheers!

    Ok! This one's bugging me!

Thanks! That answers my biggest question! This RIS will get transferred to my glass carboy this weekend........then we'll let time do its thing! Gonna let it simmer for several months, in hopes of breaking it out and enjoying it for my brothers 40th birthday/and the holidays in December! Cheers!

    Unsure if fermentation took place!!

The main reason I didn't see anything is because I was gone all week and left right after I put it to the primary! But......I will definitely check the bucket lid! Thanks!!
