several months in primary, nail polish aroma?

As the title say, brewed and forgot a sweet mean batch. I Crack the lid to rack to secondary and I've got a pungent turpentine/nail polish aroma out of the primary. I fear this one's dead. Added stabilize and clarify that came with the kit then transferred it. Any thoughts?

85* wort - too hot to pitch yeast?

So I pulled a rookie move and topped off my primary with warmer water than I intended. I cooled it to about 100* then started adding water, vigorously stirring to make sure the sugars and new water all mixed. Now I'm staring at a full primary thats around 85* no way to feasibly cool it...

    Stout final gravity at 1.02

After 3 weeks, my stout (AHS Steamroller Stout, IIRC) is sitting at 1.02 on the hydro. Spent about 10 days in primary with blow-off tube, then last 11 days in secondary with airlock. Projected ABV is about 8.5% so I'm not sure if 1.02 is ok for a final grav, or not? Also, it showed 1.02...

    Cracked primary bucket

Howdy brewers! I posted this under beginners forum, cuz I've only been brewing about a year. And I don't understand how the hell it happened. Maybe some of you seasoned brewers can shed some light on it. My primary bucket is cracked. Center of the bucket, Inside the ring on the bottom...

    Brewing First Stout

I'm heating up the pot for my first stout. :rockin: I've seen the big hoses and water used for an airlock on these. Is this absolutely necessary? and whats the purpose? I assume big air flow from fermenting the stronger recipe. just wondering if I can use my air lock or should I rig...
