    yeast caked on top of carboy

    im assuming it is ok to go ahead and unblock the caked yeast at the top of the carboy. it was blocking the blow off tube. will this all settle towards the bottom?

    hydrometer question.

    ok. so i just got done cooling the wort to about 69 degrees. transferred to carboy. added water to the 5 gallon mark. took a reading with the hydrometer. the OG is supposed to be 1050. and this is what it reads. should i be concerned? did i do something wrong?

    over carbonation

    i bottled my beer over 6 weeks ago. the beer tastes good, but it seems to be really carbonated. i get good head when i pour, but it tastes almost as if im drinking a soda. what could this possibly be caused from?
