Hey y'all. I brewed a sour mashed wheat beer earlier in the summer. I let it sit in primary for a while and then I racked half of it onto canned tart cherries in water and frozen bagged sweet cherries. I'm wondering if I will have introduced wild yeast from the bagged cherries. I'm not sure...
Hey all, I'm going on vacation for a week and have two kits waiting to be made. Can I freeze the grains without any repercussions later? I'm just wanting to throw them in the freezer until I return.
Alright, so I'm thinking about making something and in the process, I have stumped myself.
If grapes and honey are pyment, and honey and apple juice/cider are cyser, what would the combo of grapes, honey and apple juice/cider be called?
Any thoughts on how this will turn out? I'm planning on doing this, but having doubts that the two will go together. I also have some Simcoe, Citra, Warrior, and Amarillo that I could use instead of sorachi ace if anyone thinks that one of them may be better, I can be easily influenced.
Alright, I'm not a big TV watcher. We always have a TV on here at the house and I do everything I can to avoid TV. However, I caught an episode of Duck Dynasty on A&E the other day, and I am hooked!
Hey all. I just purchased a 60 qt aluminum kettle and now I need a burner for it. I will be doing biab and only be doing 5 gallon batches for now. Eventually I will step up to 10 gallon batches in the future. What would be the better burner for this pot?
I think!
Just got a 60 qt aluminum pot with a basket for $49.95 0pretty darn good imo. Now all I need is a bag and a turkey fryer or burner and I will be set for BIAB all grain.
Alright, I hope that I am allowed to post this here, if not I will be happy to remove it asap.
My wife and I have recently adopted a Boxer from the Tulsa Boxer Rescue. We are also fostering another boxer until she finds her furever home. My wife also has been selling Scentsy for the past...
Hey all. I am thinking about making a cider very soon. I want to add cinnamon as I love apple and cinnamon together. I am thinking about something like apfelwein. Will it be alright to add cinnamon sticks in the primary if I do not plan to secondary? I like cinnamon, but not where it's so...
Just curious what other hobbies/obsessions do you have?
If I had the time and space, I would garden with lots and lots of tomatoes. I would also get into guns and such if I had the funds and again the time.
I'm not sure this has been asked before, but here goes. Do different types of bottles lead to different levels of carbonation? My initial reaction to this question is a simple 'no'. However...I recently bottled an American brown ale in different Boyle types. Some are SN bottles, some are Sam...
Hello.
Today, I bottled my cream ale that had raisins and peaches. The problem that I ran into was whilst racking to bottling bucket there were several chunks of the fruit that made it into the bucket. This caused a problem when bottling as the chunks were getting into the bottles. When I...
Just wondering what type of glass do you drink your beer from? Myself, I prefer a Mason jar, but that's really the only "glass" that I have, everything else is broken. We do have some kind of inexpensive wine glass that I drink from when I'm feeling snooty. :mug:
Hello, quick question of "what would you do?" Last Friday, I brewed a cream ale kit and modified it a bit by adding 2 lbs of fresh peaches pureed and 8 oz raisins pureed. I added these two with about 10 min. left in the extract boil. When I poured into the primary, I poured everything in...
Just a quick question as I am running out the door. How much DME does one need to sub for LME? I just want to use DME in an upcoming recipe and the recipe calls for LME. Thanks!
THIS IS FUN!!
So, I started out three weeks ago and brewed the Autumn Amber Ale kit from Midwest. It is still in the primary. If I have learned anything, it's patience and sanitation. Clean, clean, clean and wait, wait, wait. The FG on that one ended up at 1.012 right where it was...
