This is a very interesting thread although it is a few years old. Over the past few days I have been collecting dregs from some Saison Dupont so I am but not sure what to do with it. The bottle says this beer is unfiltered so I really want to try some type of experiment

Back when I was making wine my carboys got stained like that. I put a PBW extra strong solution in them and left them for a couple weeks and all of that disappeared. Then I did a normal cleaning and sanitized and they are fine.

Is there such a thing as plug and play type STC-1000? I see everyone on here talking about a project box, reprogramming, adding wires and such. I want to spend my time on brewing not electronic projects no matter how simple. An ebay or Amazon link would be appreciated

For experimentation or lack of space to brew 1 gallon kits are great, But you are not really "cutting your teeth" doing 1 Gal batches because there are great differences between brewing 1 gal and 5 gal. BTW making 1 gal batches by cutting grain bill 1/5 doesn't always work.

Wow my LHBS is only a block away from my home which is a plus but he is only open 1 day a week.

When scaling down the Pliny make sure you don't forget that one of the best things about Pliny is the bitterness. I've had it and it is perfect!

You could always use the pre-measured fizz drops which calculates by the vessel the beer is going into. They are especially convenient when bottling

I never restrict myself to an exact amount. I just go with the flow!
