    Reusing roselare

So I brewed a Flemish red, fermented and will be transferring it to secondary and dumping another wort on it. I did this a little backwards, dumping a golden ale on the Flemish red yeast cake so it will definitely affect color. Awhile ago I read that you shouldn't harvest or wash Wyeast's...

Hi, I have a ton of old grains and I have a few questions. I found about 10lbs of crushed Marris otter that I think I got about 2 years ago. Wondering how defeated they will be and how it will affect the finished product. I'm also making a huge ris so I was thinking maybe I can do a party gyle...

    Question about AG boil

So basically, I'm wondering what the consequences of an interrupted boil are! Example: i run out of propane 60 minutes into my 90 minute boil, so I run to the store to get propane, run back home and bring back to a boil for the remaining 30 minutes. Anything bad happen?

Hi all! Question, do you think if I put my keg in my mash tun and filled my mash tun with snow, would it be too cold or would it keep it just cold enough to drive the co2 into solution?

    Split wort saison/sour saison

So I had a small 2 part question. 1. Can I just take any Saison recipe (10gallon), split it and put saison yeast in one and sour the second half or do I need a specific grain build for sour? 2. Anyone have a recipe for this?

    Expired coopers malt extract

Hi, I got a can of coopers malt extract awhile (and I mean awhile) ago and it has been expired since 2013. I'm wondering if I can just brew it possibly with fresh specialty grains and yeast I have lying around (s-04 or 05) or is it garbage? Not that it's a huge waist but I'd rather make a beer...

    Mead to methiglin?

Hi all! I have a mead that has been bulk aging (5gal) in the dark for about 3 years now. It's beautifully clear, tastes great but has a smell reminiscent of the rubber carboy top. I was thinking that back sweetening would change it. So I was wondering if I could actually make a solution by...

    Recipe question

Hi, I was just wondering how much of a difference it makes. In my recipe it says after the boil, to add for example 2 gallons of water to bring it to 5 gal. Can I just put more water during the boil so that I end up with 5 gal by the end? Cheers!
