How long can I keep beer in my secondary?

It is an amber beer. I got it from the Samuel Adams home brew contest. I would post the link but I can't it on their website. It might have been taken down. Does anyone know what I am talking about? In general, how quickly will beer go bad? This was an OG of 1.04, FG of 1.12 - 1.16. No dry hop...

How long can I keep beer in my secondary?

So I am running a little experiment. I have had my beer that I didn't have room to bottle in my secondary for probably 6-10 weeks now. How long can I keep the beer in my secondary fermenter until it goes bad? Thanks.

Interesting find accompanied by a question.

Thanks all. The beers that were bottle conditioning at a higher temperature have a sweeter flavor. Would the bitter flavor from the beers that fermented at the cooler temperature for the first week be just a greener tasting beer?

Interesting find accompanied by a question.

Hey all, So I bottled my first batch about 3-4 weeks ago and had an interesting find. Some background first: I bottled my beer and bottled conditioned them a little differently the first week. I put a few at room temperature, about 70 degrees. And the rest in my basement for the first week...

    Refrigeration?

So I have bottled my first beer about a week and a half ago. I know I am supossed to wait three weeks, but well...I am not. lol. So anyway, I just am testing one tonight and put it in the refrigerator. When I am actually getting ready to drink the beers, how long should I keep them in the...

    Green beer taste?

I didn't bottle it all because I ran out of bottles. So I guess that is a plus and a minus! I guess I get to start saving bottles!

    Green beer taste?

So I bottled my first batch last night! I of course tasted some before putting it in the bottles. I don't know what green beer should taste like. I did an amber for my first batch. Can anyone describe what tastes I should be looking for? It tasted a bit bitter if that makes sense. I'm guessing...

    Storing recently bottled beers?

If I move it out of my basement there is a possibility that the temp would hit 70-80 during the day. maybe even 80 plus. Is that ok?

    Storing recently bottled beers?

So I just finally bottled my first batch after letting it ferment for a month! I put the bottles back where I was fermenting the beer. It is probably like 60 degrees farenheight. Is that okay? Or should they be stored where it is hotter? Thanks everyone!

    Bottling Bucket?

So I don't have a specific bucket just for bottling. Would it be okay to dissolve my priming sugar in water, pour that into my fermentor, stir, and then attach a bottling wand to my auto siphon and siphon into my bottles? Or put the priming sugar dissolved into water in my carboy, siphon my beer...

Gravity shows stuck fermentation - Help!

So does that mean I might have ruined my beer by giving it a slight shake? I put the top back on the fermenter and while it was upright, rocked it back and forth.

Gravity shows stuck fermentation - Help!

So I am currently taking the temperature inside the fermenter. I have my thermometer in there, however, I shook up the fermenter a little and re added water to my airlock since it evaporated. Within maybe 30 seconds I saw bubbles coming out of my air lock. I know this is the worst way to tell if...

Gravity shows stuck fermentation - Help!

Thank you. I edited it to say 1.018. I am fermenting at room temperature in my basement. I will put my thermometer in the fermenter after sterilizing to see the temperature. I am using a plastic vessel. It is well closed. So I can shake it a little. But do not stir with a spoon? Correct? How...

Gravity shows stuck fermentation - Help!

It tastes fine. The recipe is as follows: 1) Put crystal grains in 1.5 gallons of cold water in brew pot. Bring to boil. After boil remove from heat and let seep for 5 minutes. 2) Add 2 cans of malt extract, the burton water salts, and hops. Bring back to boil. Once boiling, keep at...

Gravity shows stuck fermentation - Help!

Hi Everyone, So I was going to bottle my first beer today! . I checked the FG and it hasn't moved for a week. The current gravity reading is 1.018. My kit says I need 1.08-1.12. So my fermentation is stuck. What do I do? How do I restart it again? Should I get more yeast and add more yeast...

    Bottling Question.

When I am bottling my beer, do I need to siphon it into a new bucket from the fermentor, or can I just use my siphon to go from the fermenter directly to the bottles? If I need to use a new bucket, can I just use my brew pot and siphon? Also, for the priming sugar, do I put sugar in each bottle...
