American Porter Bee Cave Brewery Robust Porter

@EdWort Thanks for sharing this recipe. . . I just tapped this and it is honestly the best porter I have ever brewed. The wife loves it! It tastes like a good base recipe I could build on. This could become my #2 to always have on tap. Thanks again and Cheers!! Scott :mug:

American Porter Bee Cave Brewery Robust Porter

I brewed this about three weeks ago. . . . two weeks in the primary, then added two vanilla beans to the secondary and moved it there. Checked it last night after a week in the secondary and it smells and tastes GREAT!! I will be cold crashing this later this week then kegging it the day...

    Homemade Bread Thread

A buddy of mine and I just made some bread with spent grain from a porter I just did and it came out great! Wondering if anyone has ever used beer yeast in the bread as well? If there is a thread on this somewhere please point me to it. Cheers, Scott

Clone Beer Uinta Hop Nosh Tangerine

Alright. . . thanks so much @DJTroz for letting me know this was actually available here in DFW. My original reasoning for brewing this was that it sounded good and I thought I could not get it here, so I went at it myself. So many beers here, I just never saw it. . . So I went at lunch and...

Clone Beer Uinta Hop Nosh Tangerine

I had a similar thought. I think it would be worth a try. . . as it is now it is drinking quite well, just not overbearing on the citrus. If you try it out, please let me know. . .I will consider it.

Clone Beer Uinta Hop Nosh Tangerine

Well - this came out pretty good. Not the best I have ever brewed, but solid. I was not entirely surprised, but the majority of the orange flavor from the concentrated OJ fermented out. There is a very subtle fresh citrus flavor that comes through, but I am guessing that is the hops. Not...

American Porter Bee Cave Brewery Robust Porter

I am thinking about brewing this for my wife. I am going to add some vanilla bean to the secondary, per the previous suggestions. The other thing I was thinking about doing a little different was instead of kegging this, bottling it and using a bourbon barrel aged maple syrup for priming this...

Clone Beer Uinta Hop Nosh Tangerine

I decided to try concentrated OJ . . . the recipe called for a liter, I decided to cut that by a third. I added 2 cans ($2 each) of good minute maid pulp free frozen concentrate at flame out. It is in the secondary now and I will be kegging it in about a week. I will let you all know how...

    Flat-ish beer

Just reporting back. . . it was so simple. I had ****ed up one of my CO2 connections whilst pushing the beer through the filter. Black to Black. . . daisy chain. . . lesson learned. Cheers, Scott

Clone Beer Uinta Hop Nosh Tangerine

Just brewed this over the weekend. . . . I used two cans of pulp free minute maid frozen orange juice at flame out. OG came in a bit higher (1.0730) than expected, I am guessing this is because I used concentrated OJ vs the concentrate that the Brewmaster used. . . keep your ear to the ground...

What to focus on this this water report

Hi All - I have started using tap water to brew my beer with decent results. I have simply been adding camden tablets to the water to offset the Chlorine. I am interested in taking this to the next level and have obtained my local water report. Anyone out there interested in taking a...

Clone Beer Uinta Hop Nosh Tangerine

I was considering a similar approach. I have 1 liter or three cans of good frozen orange juice...what do you think? Maybe reduce that by 1\3?

Just curious if you brewed this and how you dealt with the concentrate?

    Harvesting Yeast Questions

I am about to start harvesting my yeast to save a couple of bucks. I have a few questions: I generally do 2 weeks in the primary then two weeks in the secondary. Can I harvest the yeast from what is left in the primary and then again in the secondary? Or should I focus on one or the other...
