    Things breweries do that are SO annoying...

    for me it's barrel aging-... I don't recall one I like. I know many of you disagree, but for me I'd rather see the breweries utilize their time and real estate for a lager.

    Almonds

    I've heard toasting them on a brown paper bag for multiple short periods of time will help extract the oils. I've personally tried the extract w/o much luck let some of the other more experienced home brewers chime in

    Caribou Slobber w/ Denny's Favorite 50

    i recall reading in the complete joy of homebrewing, that (@ least for extract + steeped grains) charlie says "the most effective way to introduce the goodness of specialty grains in malt extract brewingis to add the cracked grains to the cold water as it is being brought to a boil."
