Friday I used a jar of 11 month old yeast to make a starter. I put it on the stir plate and nothing happened until this morning. Krausen! Anyone who says yeast dies after a few weeks/months is incorrect.

I'm doing a Belgian pumpkin ale with 3522. Pitched the yeast on 10/4 and it's still going with regular (every 4 seconds) airlock activity and visible yeast activity in the carboy. That's 10 days! OG 1.066 started fermentation at 68· and ramped up to 72· over 3 days. Is this normal?

Pre-boil gravity 1.037 60 minute boil Original gravity 1.04 How is that possible? My pre-boil sample was 1.02 @ 153° according to the correction chart and calculator that brings it to 1.038. My OG sample was 1.038 @ 80° the same calculator and chart bring that to 1.04. I'm kinda pissed...
