    BIAB boil pot size

I like to use the basket so that when I add heat to the mash I won't burn the bag as the basket keeps the bag off of the bottom of the kettle.

    Sparging method for BIAB !

I have done 4 BIAB brews. The first two I got about 70% efficiency with a standard crush from my LHBS. The last two I got about 83% with a finer crush at a friend's house. I also like to sparge and here is my process. I mash for 75 minutes. I wedged a collander into a fermenting bucket and...

Thanks for all the feed back. Going to order the MM 2/2.0 with base and hopper for $271. Exactly what I wanted.

Up to $300 for Grain Mill

Thanks, that is the way I'm leaning right now, but might go with the MM3. I will use this mill about 20 to 30 times a year for regular five gallon batches. Want this thing to last a lifetime if possible.

Up to $300 for Grain Mill

My budget is up to $300 for a grain mill. I brew once every two weeks and want something that will last for a long time. Been looking at the Monster Mill line, but am confused with all of the options for different rollers. My question is, if you had $300, what would you get?

Mills - Give me a direction

Going to tell the SO to get me a mill for Christmas. Money won't be an option. I want something that will last a long time. Guess I'm leaning towards the MM2. Should I get the hardened rollers or the SS 303 rollers?

    BIAB bags at bed bath

I don't think it is the same bag. If someone orders one, post here to let us know if it is the same bag. I've used the bag from BBB for five brews so far and it works great. Wouldn't mind having a few more in case this one wears out.

    Starter for Dunkelweizen

Ordered a Dunkelweizen kit and the Wyeast 3068 smack pack arrived partially inflated. Plan to brew this weekend so I think I will build a starter tonight and then decant for it to be ready to pitch. I don't want 200 billion cells for this beer as I like the banana flavor. What would be...

    BIAB ratio

I just did a BIAB and did the standard 1.25 quarts per pound of grain for mashing, which meant I started with 3.5 gallons of mash water. I then dumped 2.5 gallons of 165 degree water over the bag after the mash. After squeezing the bag I ended up with 5 gallons of wort. Had to top it off with...

My first AG BIAB with Photos

This was my first all grain BIAB. I did a Vanilla Porter from Austin Homebrew. I heated up 3.5 gallons of water to 165 degrees and mashed in 10.5 pounds of grain. After mashing in, the temp was 154 degrees. I put a lid on the pot and let it mash for 60 minutes. At the end of the 60 minutes...

    i forgot the hose diameters!

I use 3/16 beer line and 5/16 gas line, but I know a lot of people that use a 1/4 gas line.

    UPRIGHT Freezer Kegerators

Great idea! I'm going to add two more taps and a gas manifold, but didn't know what I was going to do with the manifold as I'm like you and don't want to screw or drill into freezer.

    UPRIGHT Freezer Kegerators

I like your idea for the wood in the back so that you have something to screw into. Did you just glue that on there?

    Show us your Kegerator

Here is my 13.7 upright freezer. Will add two more taps to it soon. Strawberry Blonde Bavarian Hefeweizen

    UPRIGHT Freezer Kegerators

Yeah, they are not cons to me either, but just trying to be fair. When I built the kegerator, I knew I was going to need room for expansion. I think there is room for five kegs on the floor if I move the C02 tank outside. Will definitely get another upright whenever this one goes out. :mug:

    UPRIGHT Freezer Kegerators

I have been using an upright freezer for two years now. I have a 13.7 cubic foot Frigidaire and love it. I can fit four corny kegs on the floor and a C02 tank. Will add two taps to it in the near future. Here is my pros and cons list: Pros: 1) Easy to get kegs in and out without much...
