    Prancing Pony sign

It is hanging on the door of the room that I converted to my bar, so another picture would just be of the rest of the door. However I did do a thread on my keezer build a while back which shows my basic layout. Not at home at the moment to take a recent picture. Keezer in a closet build...

    Prancing Pony sign

Probably could have decreased the time a little by playing with my toolpaths, but still learning and was pretty conservative with my cuts and speeds.

    Prancing Pony sign

I recently bought a CNC router, and decided that my first major project with it should be something for my bar. As I am a fan of the Lord of the Rings movies, I decided to make the sign from the Prancing Pony Inn. After 6 hours of running, this is the result. It is 15”x20” and carved from a...

    My custom beer caps.

Thanks. I enjoy creating things. That's why I home brew. I also 3d print, and do some wood working. Currently saving up for a CNC router. That toy isn't going to come cheap. $2000 will take a while to save up, but would really expand the number of things I can make.

Tried to make the mirror in the above pic using it and the results weren’t great. Scan lines evident and a weird brown discoloration left behind.

    Laser etched bar mirror

LED strips with a remote, normally sold as accent lights for TV’s/monitors. I ran them all the way around the inside of the frame.

    Laser etched bar mirror

This is my latest creation for my home bar, a 12" x 12" Lord of the Rings themed laser etched mirror. Of course, just a laser etched design isn't all that special, but when you back light it with LEDs....

Got it built and have played around with the Eleksmaker software that it comes with, but find it a bit lacking in features. Test engravings are a bit underwhelming too. Some gaps in the scan lines that did not get engraved at all. More experimenting and tuning to do yet.

Kegging noob Why does pressure keep rising on regulator

Did you carbonate your beer at a higher pressure than your current setting? I’m wondering if it is just CO2 escaping from your beer because there isn’t enough pressure to keep it dissolved. It’s a shot in the dark, but sometimes it’s the simplest things that cause issues.

Looked at this type and they seem to have a slow print speed. I don’t know if it’s because it is a diode based laser or because it is only 1 watt. I should know by the end of the week, as my 2.5W diode laser arrived today. I will be playing with it once I assemble it and figure out the software...

    Why do you make wine?

I make wine/beer because I enjoy creating things. Some of my other hobbies are woodworking, wood turning, 3D printing, and laser engraving/cutting. There is something enjoyable about sharing/showing something with someone and having them wonder just how you managed to make it.

Custom beer coasters you say? I’ve done that too. :) Some Harry Potter themed coasters.

Not a bad Idea, a magnet plate over each tap with descriptions on bottle caps. I like it!

Lots of people thought so. I ended up making and selling 12 of them right before Christmas.

Ya, Beer glasses are too tall. The lens is a 2" focal distance and clearance to the laser head is less than that. But it does a great job at etching Glass and mirrors. 8"x8" back lit mirror I made for my bar.

Yeah, my controls are a little different, but same machine.

Ya, Chinese K40. It works, but has it's own quirks. If you do get one, be prepared to swap out the bed that comes with it, its junk. Still tying to work out how to do an adjustable bed for it. After martket options run as much as the machine itself. And the mirrors/lens too.
