    BB American Pale Ale - BRY-97 question

    I haven't had time to brew an all grain in a couple of months and my pipeline is empty. I brewed a BB APA yesterday and it came with BRY-97. I have read that it is a notoriously slow starter. I have it in my fermentation chamber set at 62. Is that too cool for this yeast? Thanks!

    I should have started the starter earlier. I have to brew tomorrow as I am leaving on Monday for 2 weeks. I will try the cling wrap now I tried the cling wrap test and the plastic is pushing out... I guess that means it is viable. yay!

    A 419 help

    I wouldn't put the probe in a water bottle - it isn't water proof. What most people normally do is tape the probe to the outside of a keg with some sort of insulator around the probe.
