    Very long boil to hit gravity

    Hi I brewed a belgian dark strong and was having a hard time hitting my 1.103 target gravity. I was planning on boiling for 1.5 hours but I ended up boiling for more like 3 hours because my gravity was too low. although the hops were only boiled for 60 mins.     plastic totes for fermenters

    Hi, I was going to make some fermenters and am having some trouble getting big enough buckets here in juneau alaska. Has anyone tried making fermenters out of plastic totes. I think If I can get one with a lid that seals on tight it might work pretty good. Any thoughts on this?

    I forgot to add my oats!! Help please?

    I just brewed up a wit beer and forgot to add my oats to the mash. The beer has been in the fermenter for 2 days. Can I steep the oats and add it to the beer when it is out of the fermenter, and ready to be kegged?
