Hi everyone I decided to make hard cider and I forgot to take a gravity readings of the apple juice. I used store bought apple juice from Shop Rite which only had vitamin C added and was partially from concentrate. can anybody give me some sort of idea of what the original gravity of my cider was so that I can figure out the alcohol content.

By the way the cider smells awesome I can't wait to drink it

wild guess...OG is probably somewhere near 1.05 if it ferments dry to 1.0 you'll be around 6.5% abv. To test this empirically, buy more juice, pour it into a glass, drop in your hydrometer, take reading, remove hydrometer, drink the juice, and report back here as to what the OG is.

Good Luck!
