Just purchased an 80 quart SS post with SS valve so I can move on to larger AG batches. I measured the dead space and found it was six quarts, which I think is a bit much. Should I make an elbo to fit into the valve on the inside of the pot to reduce the liquid level when using the valve to remove the wort or could I use a March pump and racking cane to move the cooled wort to the primary fermenter?
