Is it necessary to have a dedicated keg for kegging cider? I only have two kegs and I generally only make beer. I have a batch of cider my wife wants to keg instead of bottle, and I'm hesitant about hooking it up.

Does the cider smell/taste linger in the keg like I've heard the soda can? I know alot of people have trouble ever getting the pepsi smell out of their kegs and if cider can be just as bad I'd just assume avoid it until I can get a dedicated keg. Any thoughts?

I have one, but most of the time I make blackberry cider. Apple cider isn't anywhere near as bad as soda.
