Not the most epic photo, but hey. A batch of Kolsch yeast on my Cimarec mega stirplate-of-doom.

I am well aware of MrMalty, thanks.

OG: 1.049
Stir Plate
# of vials needed with starter: 1
# of liters of starter needed: 1

There is exactly 1 liter of starter in the flask on that stir plate and 1 vial of yeast in it.

Those stirplates are nice! I've watched several on Ebay but they always seem to get real expensive at the end of the auction. Definitely nice!

I get a calculation of 1L if you are only fermenting 5 gallons and the yeast is at 100% viability. What is the expiration date on you yeast pack/vial?

I'm not sure I understand what you guys mean. Even at 65% viability in a 5.25 gallon batch, MrMalty is telling me 1 vial of yeast and 1 liter of starter.
