Hey everyone, been brewing with electric for about 5 months now on my ekeggle. Can anyone explain why sometimes I see dramatic differences when taking temperature readings? Does it have something to do with the element? Just curious, thanks!

Not sure, but do you recirculate or stir water when heating? I noticed the first time I tried my system out that the temperature would fluctuate wildly. It turned out that water underneath the element wasn't heating so it was uneven in the kettle. Just a thought. Not sure exactly what you're experiencing though.

yeah that sounds about right. I would just place my thermometer in different area of the keggle and the temperatures would fluctuate by 30+ degrees. I basically just heat my strike and sparge water on the stove top because of incorrect mash temperatures.
