    HomeBrewTalk Survey

I got into home brewing because of the lack of good offerings years ago. Now with the selection that's available, a lot of people can find something they like at almost any distributor. And lets face it, this isn't a hobby you get into to save money on beer. Just ask my wife when my new $900...

ITC 1000 F Just got one off Amazon, and will be wiring it up as a ferment camber controller. $16 and free 2 day shipping with Amazon prime, displays in F, heat and cool modes.... gota give it a try. I'll follow up with how well it works after using it for a while.

How often to strip/clean threaded fittings?

I don't go out of my way to do any hot side fittings. I'll do the mash tun thermo probe "T" once in a while just to make sure I'm not getting build up that would effect the temp reading, but other than that, PBW with a 190 deg water flush. Good to go.

    BrewNanny

If your spending $500.00 on this, I doubt your still using $10 plastic buckets, or glass carboys, so the "illuminance" feature is not needed since light doesn't penetrate Stainless. And if you spend 5 bills on this before a stainless conical.....well, you know what Barnum said....

    Mobile brew system

a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. My fear would be damage if you're not there to supervise it's use.

    Stainless couterflow chiller...and a thought

My thought was to put the stainless cfc IN the HLT just like a herms coil and run weldless fittings through the pot to connect it. it would take two pumps, but I have that already. I know cfc's aren't as long as regular herms coils, but if you mash in at the right temp, it shouldn't be hard to...

Starting with Warm or Hot Water

So "they" say...as stated above, hot water tanks can have a lot of junk in them, and hot pulls more junk off the walls of the lines....will it be harmful...no...could it affect the taste, could be. If your curious....smell a glass of cold vs hot tap water at your house...is there is a...

    Stainless couterflow chiller...and a thought

Has anyone ever used a stainless counter flow chiller as a herms coil and chiller in one? Seems plausible to me, just looking to here from anyone who has done it.

Strange yeast behavior. Is US-05 getting weird on you?

Same here....use s-05 all the time, this last brew I did it took 2 days to start, never had that happen before.

Label Peelers pre order...anyone get em yet?

Just like the title says....anyone get their label peelers pre-order? it's going on 2 months now and nothing yet....I know it's an ag product, but it seems to go this way every year with Label Peelers. I like them, but the push back on delivery every year is starting to get old.
