To follow up. In the past all my extract brews seemed to ferment a lot more aggressively.
Did we have a bad yeast?
Is the malt and grain suppose to be together?
Is there any other problems I should be considering?
We just did our first all grain porter.

Yeah after posting I searched the forums for similar discussions. Probably should of done that first. And that seems to be the common way to do it.

My mini refrigerator just crapped out on me. I want to get a top opening freezer so I would have more space for 5 gallon kegs. Is it possible to raise the freezer temp so it won't freeze the beer? Do most models have the ability to do it just with the settings? Or do I have to do some...

I bought 2 keggles from a guy and he didn't weld the stainless spiggots. He just used some washers. He said they will leak a little. From everyone's experience what is a reasonable price to have the spiggots welded tot he keggle?
Or has anyone had success with silver soldering as a diy...
Hey Im just starting to get into full on brewing in the Seattle area. I've done about 3 batches using extracts. I've invested the money into some equipment and plan on stepping it up and do all grain brewing.
