    2 quick questions

Thanks for the replies folks! I am aiming for the lemon to bring out the blueberry flavor and accent it. I want to be able to taste it for sure but it should not be the star. I have 2 lemons at my disposal for this 1 gallon batch.

    2 quick questions

Hello, Making a blueberry lemon melomel. First mead ever. I added 3 lbs honey, energizer, nutrients, and 1 lbs of frozen blueberries to the primary. That sat for exactly 2 weeks in primary. I had the blueberries in a pantyhose sock in primary. After I transferred to the secondary I noticed...

    Lemon blueberry melomel

Well I just simply thought that blueberry and lemon work so well together I wanted to shoot for that flavor combo in the final mead. I made skeeter pee (lemon wine)once and it turned out fantastic. Come to think of it I'm pretty sure I used D-47 yeast for that too. Not sure what TA stands for...

    Oatmeal question

Hello forum folk, I've got a quick question for you. I'm about to brew a one gallon batch of a hard ginger ale. The recipe calls for 2 oz of rolled oats oatmeal but my local homebrew store sold me flaked oats instead. Will there be any difference in the final product? Is this a problem...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Any idea what would cause a pineapple off flavor? Or is it just the Columbus hops?

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

So I opened up my 2 first all grain batches tonight and the perle is pretty pale which is pretty cool and the NW IPA smells a little odd but ok. Not as hoppy as expected either. But I did add my dry hops tonight. A little under .25oz of perle in the perle beer and a whopping .40oz of Columbus...

Worst case scenario use some food grade silicon caulk around the rim on the inside of the caps to help seal it. Give it a try! And for the label try acetone and maybe some 1000 or 1500 grit sand paper. And I'm a huge collector of random cool shaped bottles

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

You could use vodka and the zest to make a lime zest extract and just pour the extract in the beer. Soak the zest in the vodka for a week then strain it and pour the vodka in.

I found this big bottle at the local Ross store for like $9 bucks! Just seems right to ferment beer in a big beer bottle! I like that big bottle of yours as well but I might have to remove that label LoL. And Google it. You just might find caps that size. You never know.

So you guys think this giant beer bottle will work well for a secondary fermenter? 2.5 year old for scale.
