My CFC is 24ish feet, works great. Summers here in VA the cold water temp gets down to about 65, which puts my wort at right at a lovely 70-72 degrees. I can usually pitch right away. I imagine that a CFC around 50' would be better for a warmer climate due to the longer contact time with the...
Hey all you Richmond guys/girls out there... according to Matt the grain should get here today. I will be heading up on Wednesday to pick up my grain and whoever from around RVA wants me to pick up for them. We can then work out arrangements when I get back with the grain. Just remind/respond...
I am already picking up for another guy on here so if anyone wants me to haul it back then let me know. I can carry few hundred pounds, if not more, so let me know if anyone else wants me to pick up for them. We can work out pick-up details when the grain comes in.
This is just my humble emergency medicine/nursing background, but I would not mess around it either way and remove the silicone from around it. Leak test and see from there but I would think that if you followed others directions and were safe about the construction, there should be no leaks...
Ok, so I know that March Pumps are essentially THE pump to use for brewing, but I have found a cheap pump on ebay that can handle the usual temps that are seen during the typical brew day.
So I guess my question is why is this pump bad...

Thanks for the advice on the dry hopping as well, I thought that it was a little low but wasn't sure.

I actually found the $15 5gal cooler at Wally World last week, I'm going to use it for a HLT for fly sparge. Thanks for the original post though 'cause I have been looking for deals on coolers for a while.
