    BOTTLING oven vs. iodine

    I use Iodophor. I was using far too much the first couple of times, until I researched just how much to use. 1 Tablespoon of Iodophor per 5 gallons of water makes a sufficient no rinse sanitizer.

    no air lock activity

    I'll tell you what I have been told every time I ask this question (I've asked it a lot)...the airlock is not a surefire test as to if fermentation is happening. The fact that you have the Krausen on top is proof that the fermentation is happening...just might not be showing in the "bubble form".

    Never dump it

    I dumped one batch. The pot was too hot when I poured the LME into the pot...plus I didn't stir it well enough. The entire thing had a burned pasta flavor and odor to it. YUCK.
