    Raising abv

More info: I actually used a sous vide to heat the water in the container, so guess potentially I only lost the initial heat adding the mash. 5gal batch/ all grain bill, 10 lb 2 row pale malt, 1lb munich mash time 1.5 hours (doing other stuff figured it wasnt going to hurt it. Yes I sparged...

    Raising abv

I didnt know where to put this, I brewed an allgrain IPA and had a relatively chill brew day and, I dont check my gravity throughout the mashing and brewing process (even though I know I should). I mashed at 153 degrees and didnt account for temp lost in the rubbermaid cooler (also didnt check...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

Ohhhh yeah, I never even thought about that!.. then what's the point of making sure your extract is treated this way if you hop three times! Haha

I ended UP buying 4 strong magnets off Amazon that have screw in hooks, and just went to home depot and bought screws that fit in the holes with washers. I also sprayed each magnet with rustoleum paint to help them last longer inside...

    Chilies in mash?

I believe you, I just was unable to find a source that explicitly says it.. which is why I said assuming.. I guess the saying about assuming is true wasn't trying to give bad information. bleme do you happen to know your source/have you tried this? I don't know why the brew assistant would...

    Chilies in mash?

I have not tried this before, but I had a friend who worked for a brewery and they made a raspberry jalapeno beer that had some flavor and heat present from the jalapeno. He told me they used pickled jalapenos at flame off for 10 minutes.. I don't know if they rinsed them first to get rid of the...
