    Calgary breweries/brewpubs

Trying to continue my tradition of tasting at least one local beer from cities I have to visit as part of my work/travel. Will be in Calgary in August, and was wondering if there are breweries or brewpubs in the city, preferably near the University of Calgary (where I will be staying)/downtown area?

    Best canned crafts?

+1 for 21st Amendment I also like the Moose Drool Brown Ale in cans.

    Are you fit or fat?

Partly fit. Love beer, alcohol and good food in general; bit old and lazy to bring myself to 10-15% levels of body fat. But I do run regularly, and will start going back to the gym soon. Just ran the San Diego Rock n Rock half-marathon yesterday in a decent time (~2:05). My bib said 'I'm on a...

Going to Sydney and Cairns, need recommendations

Do check the The Local Taphouse in Darlinghurst (corner of Flinders and South Dowling St) - possibly the best selection of craft brews in the city. The Australian in the Rocks is good for food+beer, but not much of craft beers. Lowenbrau has a pub in the Rocks as well. I had few other...

    Fresno, CA brewery/pubs?

Will be driving up to Merced, CA for some work next week. There doesn't seem to be much in the city. But I will be passing through Fresno, and stopping there to meet a friend. Does anyone know of any decent brewpubs/pubs/breweries in that area? Google search suggests the Sequoia Brewing...

Brisbane, Australia - where can I find good beer?

I lived in Brisbane and Sydney for sometime between 07-09. Some insights based on that. Brisbane: Unless things have changed in the last 4 years, there are only few places in in Brisbane for really good beer. One is The Belgian Beer Cafe at the crossing of Mary and Edwards in downtown...

PSA: Responding to bottling issues with "you should keg"

This is the equivalent of asking on the internet for help on a PC problem and getting replies of 'Get a Mac' ;)

    San Diego Beer

In addition to what is mentioned here, here are some smaller breweries and few other places you may want to consider: 1. Lightning (Poway): makes a great Pilsner, and is currently brewing a more traditional German lager which should be ready in June. Also has some fine barrel aged stuff...

    Opening a Nanobrewery!

Wonderful! I don't think we can ever have too many breweries here. Even better if you do open in the Mira Mar/Mira Mesa area (close to work!). Can't really help you with anything other than coming in to taste the beers once you are ready :) Good luck and keep us updated.

    old speckled hen

+1 on the love for this beer. I had it first time on tap at a pub in Brisbane, Australia. Been hooked on it ever since! The origin of the beer has bit of history that car-buffs might enjoy: http://www.beerhunter.com/documents/19133-000104.html One of the British-style pubs here in San Diego...

SuperBowl Beers based on competing teams.

As a friend of mine said, I would love it if both teams lose this year. Still, it is a good enough reason to party and drink beer. (not that one needs a reason for it)

SuperBowl Beers based on competing teams.

Love Ommegang beers, but they're more central NY-state. Was looking for breweries in the city itself. I went to grad school in Rochester, NY and was Genessee Cream was my poor-grad student beer :P. Will serve them the day Bills make it to the SuperBowl :D

SuperBowl Beers based on competing teams.

I am planning a SuperBowl party at my house. Usually I serve my own homebrew and/or cocktails at these parties. Unfortunately, this year I am a little low on my own brews. Also, I usually try to keep the food and drink theme related to the competing teams (was a lot of fun two years ago with the...

    San Diego Home-brewers out there???

Hey there. San Diego has loads of local breweries and great pubs that offer huge variety of craft beers. Here are some suggestions for the downtown area: 1. The Neighborhood bar. http://neighborhoodsd.com/ Their food is very good as well. 2. Monkey's Paw, which has opened recently, seems...

    Cane & Ebel Clone help?

Thanks for the input. Seems like it is better that I source some Simcoe rather than trying to do a unsatisfactory substitute.
