Those are both great ideas. My pipe will come out the side of the keezer so either should work. My only concern with the flange idea is that I will have six kegs and a CO2 tank in the keezer so it might be pretty hard to pull it away from the pipe each time I open it.
Would applying some sort of latch to the pvc to attach to the keezer work? My thinking is I could use insulation on the end of the pvc and butt it to the keezer and latch it tight. When I need to open the keezer I pop the latch and the extra line should give me clearance to open. Anyone tried...
I am converting a keezer with the intention of having six taps coming through the wall. The keezer sits in a storage room behind my bar. However, when I built my collar I attached it to the lid because I didn't want to lift kegs any higher than I needed to. Now as I look at it I see a problem...
The wife gave me permission to convert our chest freezer so I am probably going to do that and scrap the fridge. A keezer seems so much simpler and it is big enough to get at least 7 kegs in there.
Edit: Now that I think about it. Since I ripped most of the guts out I bet I can just put the...
I just started taking the guts out of an old fridge. Low and behold the condensor and coils were in the space between the freezer section and the bottom. I did not cut anything but I am assuming there is no way to make this work anymore?
If not, should I just go out and by a chest freezer...
I have this same project going. I have a bourbon barrel going on two years and a wine barrel going on one. My advice is to pitch a blend because it is simply easier. You should also primary outside of the barrel otherwise you will lose more and more space as you refill. Also, you will find...

How do you know you didn't place? From what I have read, it seems like putting a place on the sheets sent out is the exception and not the rule. The NHC website makes me think that places will not be announce until May 4.
I imagine that this is a done deal now since the last registrations were on the 3rd any that did not pay would have opened up yesterday. I'm pissed I missed this.
One thing I did when I replaced my worn out braid was to add copper tubing to the inside of the braid. I just cut a couple of short pieces of copper with slits in them and fed them inside the braid. It adds some structure to the braid and also serves to weigh it down. It worked like a champ...
Does anyone have recommendations on a heatshield to go with the BG14 burners? I fired this up for the first time yesterday and didn't have my cement board properly placed and melted my polycarbonate sight glass. Luckily I only had 4 gallons or so in the boil kettle so I didn't lose any wort.
