    Bitterness

I have brewed 4 batches in a row that turned bitter after 3 days in the keg. Tasting prior to kegging they were a golden color and tasted good, 3 days in the keg and they get darker and bitter. I have been very careful with time and temps. I have brewed 3 different recipes, they all taste the...

    bitter beer

I just talked to the utility people and they are sending an analysis. Here's another point, I just poured another glass and after it sits a little while and warms up it tastes like it should. Would that indicate over carbonation?

    bitter beer

The last 4 batches I have brewed end up very bitter regardless of the amount of hops. Right after carbonation the beer tastes very good, but within a couple of weeks it becomes very bitter, not pleasant to drink, I have been brewing since 2001 and always brewed good beer. This has happened after...

Kegggers, have you ever rinsed a blown keg and put a new beer in without taking it apart and cleaning, I t seems it woud be sanitary if the old beer was not contaminated,

I'm looing for a few suggestions for a kegorator that holds 3 corneys

Be patient, look for just the right one, I found an old fridge from the 1940's on Craigs list. It belonged to the owners grandmother, it had a curved top with a square door, I took it home, sanded it down, painted it red, put some beer stickers on the door and I just love this thing, even though...

    Cutting the top?

Hi, I cut the top of my 15 1/2 gal keg with a Dremmel tool, you would want to use the fiberglass wheels and it would take 5 of them,. however, it would be cheaper than buying or renting a large cutter, besides you will have greater control of the cut. I cut a 12 inch hole, I set my primary...

Frustrated with all grain...going back to extract

I too became frustrated w/ all grain and almost gave up. The first thing I did was analyze why I brew in the first place, besides having good beer on hand and saving some money, I really enjoy the process, I like to make beer, its a hobby. All grain gives me the opportunity to play with the...

    Brew Belt

I use the brew belt with both glass carboys and buckets. I found it easier with buckets, you can move the belt up and down the bucket to adjust the temp, with the carboy I push dowels (pencils, pens etc:) between the belt and the side of the carboy to adjust the temp. It took 8 pencils to keeep it...

    How much have you spent?

I have probably spent $500 but much could have been avoided through research. One mistake I made was not getting large enough equipment in the first place,so I needed to continually upgrade, larger pots better burners etc:
