    Delicious beer? Or infected?

My first batch after a long break.... Does Star San go bad? I am about to transfer to secondary and I found the top had a film on it. It might be yeast? The beer smells great. Thanks for the input guys!

Its been a while since ive been on here.... good to be back. SO, when I moved, I didnt take my all grain set up and have been satisfying my brewing needs with simple extract batches. For my next batch, i want to try and take a recipe ive made before with grain. Pretty simple porter, here...

    Brew Off!!

On one very special Friday the 13th, the most epic of brew battles has begun! Not rain nor heavy winds were able to stop us. Hence, inside of my compatriots garage, WE BREW! It doesnt promise to be a quick battle, but one that requires endurance, wit, and finesse. THE ARENA preparations...

Beer tastes wrong - willing to let it sit - which is best way?

i recently brewed a new castle clone as well and it has an 'off flavor' too. my best shot at describing it is a touch metallic in flavor. not overwhelming, but it shouldn'tu be there? think im suffering from a similar problem?? should i just let it sit?

just did this with my last brew (and that stir bar was borrowed from a friend cause my other one is in another vessel). seems like i do it almost every time. :drunk: love the idea about using a magnet to keep the bar in the flask! I cant stand the idea of not using all my starter cause im...

New York Times feature on Hop Harvesting

Yeah, my buddy just sent that to me. Very cool since this is the first season i started growing my own hops. Ive got them drying out now. I was thinking of using them for dry hopping (mt. hood and magnum) in whats in my fermenter. Is that a waste?? should i freeze them and wait for a brew...

    Brew Off!!

Awesome feedback guys! I like the idea to truly follow the iron chef format. Question would be what would the limitations be on ingredients? Available malts: English pale, Crystal, Biscuit Available hops: Goldings, Challenger, Fuggles Agree on a single yeast strain...
