1 Tier Stand Design/Build with Pics

Wow, those prices are nuts. I paid $125 for all of the steel for my stand. That was for 1.5" .120 wall tubing.

Welding 101 = Fun Brutus Build

Yeah, that's about the right price depending on the tubing size. I paid around $125 for all of my steel, 1.5" square tubing, .120 wall at a local place here in MD.

    Kegerator to corney question

Not sure about best, but I have these and they have worked fine.

    Kegerator to corney question

Nope, regulator doesn't need to change. The one thing you might consider (I did this and am very happy I did) is to put quick disconnects on your gas and beer lines from the tower. That way you can have a set of connectors for corny kegs, as well as your commercial coupler and easily swap...

    New single tier brewstand

Gotcha, thanks! How are you distributing the wort back onto the top of the grain bed? Do you have a manifold of some sort, or?

    New single tier brewstand

Do you have any more description or pics of your RIMS setup (I didn't see the heat exchanger in the pics, unless I'm missing it). Your RIMS tube/heat exchanger is gas fired? Or is it a HERMS setup with the coil in your HLT? I just finished building a single tier and am still cooler mashing, but...

    My Single Tier Stand Build

Looks good! Currently finishing up my single tier build also. Another paint option is Rustoleum Ultra high heat. I painted mine black on top and silver the rest, semi-gloss finish. Haven't fired the burners yet to see how it does, but is rated to like 1200F. One question, assuming you're fly...

Designing for Sanitation: How Far to Go

Likewise, nothing pre-boil has ever seen sanitizer in my system. The only place you really need to worry about is post boil. The boiling will kill any nasties introduced prior to that. I do clean everything well pre-boil, but don't sanitize.

Single Tier Brew Stand Tubing Thickness Question

I'm in the final stages of building my single tier and used 1 1/2" 1/8 thick square tubing. To me it feels like overkill, could have probably used .065 thick and been fine.

New CO2 lines do they need to be sanitized

My pushing beer comment was with regards to a previous reply, not your posts. Have never sanitized one myself, but if you're concerned, by all means do.

New CO2 lines do they need to be sanitized

Wait, why are you pushing beer through a CO2 line? Have never sanitized a CO2 line and never had an issue. If you're concerned why not just soak for a few minutes in Starsan before assembling?

    Ask Your Welding Questions Here!!!

Ok, so my brew stand will be my first welding project. Practicing on a bunch of scrap material, and seem to be getting better at laying down a decent bead and getting decent penetration. I keep seeing stuff about how you should bevel the edges that you are welding for a cleaner lower weld bead...
