Brew Medic you are making me excited about festivals! I thought I saw a beer booth at old time days in lees summit a few years back. That's ok, though cause we will have to make our own events and see what retarded politics come out of the wood work.
The brewpub idea would now need a special...
That too bad! One of my fondest memories was being on vacation in Kauai with a few friends, touring the island in our beet up Jeep and enjoying some longboard. I think you a bad one. Give it another shot, for me ;)
Correction: we will be the second brewery, however there are several brewpubs in the city. They are all in business zones though...a point that we have gone round and round with the zoning board about, but that are stubborn and we are poor so manufacturing zone here we come!
Well the porter turned into 40 gal due to increased efficiency: 92%! We didn't want porter wine ;). We have been forced by our lovely city to find a place in a manufacturing zone and are in the process of hunting down the right space for our needs and price range that the city will allow...
Well, it's been awhile since we came up with this crazy idea, but we have grown a lot in that small amount of time. We have gathered and built all of our equipment and are now in the process of finding a space to start the brewery application process. So today we are celebrating our year of...
yup, the denatured proteins cause haziness in the starter wort due to the 250F temps. But I am only concerned with my plates. Even though the proteins are denatured, I was thinking that they still would provide aminoacids to aid in growth.
In the end, I just wanted to see if having bits of...
I agree the engenerring help the DIY crowd, but I would like to also see how many home brewers are scientists. My background is chemistry amd microbiology which is basically everything that brewereing is to me.
I am glad I wasnt the only one. I use light DME and got a ton of proteins! I think next time I am going to drop in a stir bar and stir it up first before I pour plates. At least that way I dont have a big blob of hot breat in the middle.
THanks!
Hello,
I prepared some agar today and got a lot of hot break from the sterialization process (15 psi for 30 min). I didnt filter out the hot break as I didnt have anything at the moment to do that with and hust poured my plates anyways. I didnt think that the extra animo acids would cause...
Has anyone tried the Costco beer? Defiantly the worst beer out there hands down. They sell a variety pack, and every beer tasted the exact same. You know it's bad when a wheat and a pale ale taste exactly the same.
