I am looking to expand my system to include a stout faucet. For my normal faucets I use Perlicks as they are the best and never stick. Is there any similar concerns with Stout faucets? I have seen them ranging anywhere from $50-150. Is there any specifics to need to look for when buying a stout...
I love this recipe and have brewed it 3 times with great success. I would like to explore making this beer much hoppier, thinking somewhere around 50 IBU's. What hops would you add? Would you just add more NB for a full boil or would you use something like Citra or Galaxy? Let me know what you think
Hello fellow home brewers,
I am member of Running club in California, that is putting on a trail race and we are discussing offer 1 optional beer to all 21+ participant and volunteer. The club cannot officially provide the beer due to the agreement in their association with the RRCA (Road...
Sorry to revive an old thread.
I made this recpie a couple months ago and it turned out perfectly. It was a huge hit so I decided to make it again.
I made this last night and my OG was way low. I only ended up at 1.030. I am worried that it will taste watered down and it will be way to week...
I just brewed up my second batch of this Anderson Valley Summer Solstice clone recipe from that was posted on here by scottland. The first time I made the recipe it turned out perfect with the gravity reading and the taste of Summer Solstice. When I made my second batch last night, the OG came...
This is my first time using and I am in the process of making a New Holland Dragons Milk clone. I have it in the secondary with 3.2 ounces of Bookers bourbon and 1 ounce of medium toast american oak chips. I have read many different articles on oak chips and they all seem to offer differing...
Initially I just pitched one Wyest smack pack, American ale 1056. With no starter. Should I add another, I am 4 days in now and I still have a good amount of fermentation going on.
I am working on a dragons milk clone that called for yeast nutrients to be added to the last 15 minutes of the boil. I forget to buy the nutrients. It has been fermenting nicely for 4 days at this point, should I pitch a second packet to compensate for missing yeast nutrients and due to the high...
Thanks for all the great info on Vanilla Beans, I am getting ready to add some to a brew too. Though I have read in some forums to scrape out the middle of the bean, is there pros and cons to doing that?

I used a lager yeast for fermentation (german bock). It was in primary for 2.5 weeks and lagered for 5 weeks. It partially froze during lagering. I was worried some of the yeast might have died and I would need to add a little more just for carbonating the beer. I was thinking I would mix 1/4...
I am brewing my first lager, a 2 gallon doppelbock. Its my understanding that i should add a little yeast to the bottling bucket to ensure there is enough yeast to carb the beer after a long lagering. How do i tell how much yeast to add? Do i need to activate it before mixing it in the bottling...
