I bought a sack of pilsner and a sack of Maris Otter a few weeks ago before this all went down. My "giving in" was going to be getting another of each this week... Beer is good shelf stable sustenance after all! Just add in some canned fruit, veg, and meat and you're good to go!
I'm not familiar with how the system works myself, but don't they also track how much beer is being packaged and sold?
So they wouldn't get away with that sort of scheme anyway. More beer out than grain in? Seems pretty obvious
Looks like a sweet deal, but they already have the malt listed as on backorder :(
I have heard good things about Viking malt though
Eta: Actually only seems to be the 10# bags on backorder, the other sizes say "in stock"
Couldn't the brewpub just write on their tracking sheet/books somewhere that they sold 50# retail that day instead of brewing with it? Is there a law that says that commercial brewers can't sell grain directly to individuals?

I'm attempting a clone of my favorite porter, Bully! Porter from Boulevard Brewing Company in Kansas City, Missouri. I've done a bit of research and come up with this, leaning heavily toward what I can obtain through my LHBS and/or have on hand this weekend:

This may seem like a trivial activity, but I've come across something very interesting. I'm always paying...
Assuming that the iodine in iodized salt is added through the use of inorganic iodine salts, and that the iodine in Irish Moss is present in the form of organoiodine compounds, I would say there is a possibility that either form could have different effects/levels of effect?
Couldn't find much...
Welcome, Norseman! The first thing I will ask is what is meant by "jeasted" honey. I tried a quick google search but I couldn't find a definition for this word in English.
