best bet for a 7.o cu chest freezer, originally wanted to have one mounted, but dont know if im going to do that, which would be best one for the job, and also how easy is the wiring, and is it worth it to go the DIY route or buy one ready to go, thanks

I'm doing the "walmart" one. You can buy the controller off ebay for $20 and there is step by step instructions and hopefully build once my controller gets in.

I just bought a $25 STC-1000 from Ebay and am thinking about mounting it directly into my fridge.

Super easy to wire up. I think routing the wires would be the hardest part. But you could avoid that by wiring it into a simple box and velcro-ing it to the lid of the freezer.

+1 for both builds above. Super easy and more cost effective. Plus, you learn something about wiring / AC with the DIY build. Very handy if you live somewhere with wires.
