Is there any reason not to reuse sanitizer after it's been used on something with brett? Last week I brewed a lambic and pitched Wyeast 3278, which has brett, lactobacillus and pediococcus. I saved the sanitizer I used to clean up thinking there is no way those bugs should be able to live in actual sanitizer. But now I'm having second thoughts. Will it be safe to use?
 
I hope you didn't literally use sanitizer to clean with? Use a cleaner like PBW & rinse well first. Otherwise,you're just sanitizing the surface of dirt. Doesn't work out real well.
 
No, I did not clean my equipment with sanitizer. I used One Step then sanitized with Star San. So can it be re-used?
 
I ended up dumping it and mixing more sanitizer. I'm pretty sure it would have been OK, but I'd rather not blow a $50 batch because I was too cheap to use another ounce of sanitizer. Thanks!

There are no dumb questions only dumb answers. I hope mine isn't :)

It's not the Brett you need to worry about. I found this post which may be helpful.

I'd toss the sanitizer batch, a buck for peace of mind is cheap. I probably wouldn't reuse anything that comes in contact with lacto/pedio that isn't glass or stainless.
