Me and my wife picked up brewing a week and a half ago, I needed a new hobby and she wanted something I could do with here. It worked, I haven't played warcraft in almost 2 weeks. Turns out I'd much rather check the carboy in the garage fridge every 2 hrs :D
Getting really anxious to try our first batch.

First batch is coming out of the secondary on Thursday. It's a hefe.
Second batch is in the primary as of 2 days ago, it's a BIG stout. You can check it out at the brewmeisters web page under their recipes and then under specialty beers. It's called nosfuratus return. http://www.brewarizona.org/
I also put together a batch of EdWort's Apfelwein last night. I keep reading about it all over so I had to buy a better bottle setup and get some going. It's in my closet at 76 degrees so I hope it turns out okay. No more room in the fridge until thursday.

My wife and I are 27 and we have a 1.5 year old boy. I'm irish, last name O'Loughlin. She's scottish, previous last name McCoy. We figure brewing is in our blood and are glad to be a part of the homebrew community.:mug:

Welcome to HBT Brandon! :mug:

It sounds like you are well on your way.
Please encourage your SWMBO (wife) to participate here as well. There are getting to be more and more lady brewers and I think she will enjoy HBT.

Also... You already know about these guys:

I am a member of both and I feel they are both worth checking out.

Finally keep an eye out for any BATF - Phoenix Events announced here:
https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20

such as the fine brewout we had in June...

BATF stands for Beer Acronym To Follow, because we are not as clever as SNIZZLE or GRABASS.

Get ready for your latest addiction. :) good thing you brewed a hefe first, they dont require the conditioning that other beers do, so you will be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor sooner while waiting on your stout. I hate waiting, but its better when your drinking too.

Thanks for the info, me and my wife were looking to join up with the brewmeisters. The beer camp coming in sept. looked fun.
I'll have to check out the other organization too. Preciate all the info.
