hi i had a question that i couldn't find the answer to or is possible, can you take the tap off the top of a kegerator and place it on the bar directly above the kegerator unit

if i buy a 400 dollar kegerator and just take the tap off and place it on top of the bar it will save about 100 to 150 dollars. rather than buying a freezer, controller, build a collar, and buying all the equipment will cost about 500 to 550
