Newby to wine

I just bought some ingredients to make my first batch of wine, and I got to thinking about the staining qualities of wine. I am making a Cab, and I was wondering if anyone knew if the red wine will stain by bucket? Also, would making the wine in a bucket that I normally brew beer in, give the wine, or future beers, an "off" taste?

It might. I use a bleach bath after some of my red wines that I make in a bucket, and I always use oxyclean. I have mostly pure-white buckets, but some are a bit stained.

I use my wine and beer equipment interchangeably.

How long do you let the bleach soak in the bucket? And do you just scrub with the oxyclean, or let that soak too

I'm not a scrubber type person. A quick soak and a swipe with a soft washcloth is enough.

I never use bleach. I have 2 separate primary fermenters one for beer and one for wine.

Stained is a sign of good, hard use... it wears off a bit as you go...
