Hi,

I'm currently fermenting a Rauchbier with Wyeast 2124 and while I do have the capacity to ferment around 50 - 55, I do not have the capacity to lager it on the tank. Therefore I was thing about lagering on mini kegs and bottles. Should I bottle condition it at room temperature and wait 3 weeks before I start the lagering in the fridge?

I routinely do this with my lagers. I have found that my lagers take a little longer to condition compared to ales. I wait 3 weeks minimum before I test one to see if it is fully carbonated.

Thanks, will definitely give it a go then. What is your experience with lagering? Do you get a significant flavor change? Less yeast, sulphur etc?
