Around now, Whiskey Sour:

half a blender of ice
1 can 7up
1/2 can of frozen lemonade concentrate
a HEALTHY pour of whiskey
1 egg

During the rest of the year, Manhattan.

3 fingers of Bourbon, splash of sweet vermouth. :D

Whiskey... neat. (bourbon, scotch, irish, whatever, I love it all).

I also have a weakness for White Russians, Micheladas, Bloody Marias, Old Fashioneds, Gin & Tonics, Margaritas, Irish Carbombs, and Dirty Gin Martinis.

Whiskey sour
Rob Roy. We'll have to try the Godfather. My wife likes amaretto.
Oil slick. It's Jager and peppermint schnapps. It's really a large shot.
I also like a plain old Jack or rum and Coke.

Now I'm thinking of what to make with honey whiskeys.

In winter I really like hot drinks, so hot buttered rum is always at the top or near the top of the list. Another good one is a hot B-52. Can't get enough of hot toddies & ghluwein.
Regards, GF.

At the moment ...

and I suppose it was only a matter of time ...

The POLAR VORTEX
Heavy Cream (or half & half)
and equal measures of ...
Frangelico
Rumple Minze 100 proof
Stawski Spirytus 192 or Balkan 176 (or Everclear if those are unavailable)

All *alcohol* ingredients are combined freezer-cold ... then served in a snifter BUT with the (refrigerator temp) cream carefully floated as a 1/3"inch layer on top (using a spoon to dribble it in, down the side of the snifter) ... the cream is the "layer of snow" on top.

OR the drink can be served with the alcohol ingredients freezer-cold then mixed with the cream and poured over crushed ice.

wow, that sounds, absolutely terrible.

i made an old-school fizz last night

2oz random Old Tom gin
juice of half a lemon
tablespoon of superfine sugar

shake with ice, strain into a chilled 6oz glass, top with chilled club soda.

went down pretty good.

A classic Mojito, enjoyed while cruising through the Caribbean as the faint lights from distant islands pass by in the night.:)

bosco

8 oz rock glass filled w/ ice chips
3 oz Tres Generaciones or Cazadores 12 year
1 1/2 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
Juice of 1-2 fresh limes

Can drink these all day on the beach and feel fine the next day...

In the caribbean there is always the Painkiller

4 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. orange juice
1 oz. coconut cream
1 sprinkle cinnamon
2, 3 or 4 oz. rum
Grate on fresh nutmeg

Favorite mixed drink: A three olive martini with sweet vermouth instead of dry vermouth.

Second favorite: mojito

Lately, for some unknown reason, I've been drinking a poor man's margerita spritzer: 3oz mix, 1.5oz tequila, 0.5oz triple sec, top with ice and sprite.

+1 on this! Still remember my first one of these I had at Woody's in St. John. Also love cask root beer and dark rum.

Moscow Mule....(this month)

I've always liked those. I just recently saw a story about how they're getting popular again at fancy bars, but people are stealing all of the copper mugs.

Right now I'm really enjoying an occasional Negroni or Boulevardier

When I do drink mixed drinks, which is almost never, I have a special way that I make my Martini.

I pour a few drops of vermouth in the glass, swish it around, pour it out, eat the olive and then fill my glass with gin.

Wait, I always thought you were supposed to open the bottle of vermouth and just wave it over your glass

Huh........ I am in Afghanistan..... Right now I would settle for a bottle of Aqua Velva and a loaf of bread!

Ordinarily... my go-to would be a "Salty Dawg" with Pinnacle Vodka, Grapefruit juice and salt or a good Ocean Spray Cranberry and Vodka!

Godspeed back to the Natural State!

My favorite...

Cocktail glass filled with fresh, clean ice.
Pour Bombay Sapphire Gin over ice until glass is almost full.
Pick up dry vermouth bottle, and move to within 10 inches of the gin glass.
Then, RETURN the dry vermouth bottle to its place.
Lift the Bombay Sapphire Gin glass to lips and gently...G-E-N-T-L-Y...sip the deliciousness!

Why no olives? Because they take up room that the gin can occupy, silly!
