I bottle and don't keg. A 5 gallon batch makes almost 50 bottles. So if I make 2 batches a week apart, its very likely I'll have over 100 bottles while they are conditioning.

It seems like he was confusing grains with DME. And only one pound to all that water & dissolving yeast in boiling hot sugar water. It's a wonder it even fermented. Yikes.

Guilty on both counts.

Probably even more redneck is the fact that I've been "working" on my brew rig for just over a year now, with no end in sight, and parts for it are scattered all over the house.
It reminds me of that rusted out Trans-Am sitting on cinder blocks in a redneck's front yard that they have been "working" on for years, parts scattered all over the yard, with no discernible progress.

I wondered the same thing since there is mention of cutting the malted barley addition from 1.5 to 1.0 and upping the sugar for a lighter beer flavor.
