I just finished an Amber Wheat/Rye/Quinoa all grain. I smacked the wyeast German Ale pack at about noon today and waited for it to swell while I brewed. It is 11:30 pm now and the pack hadn't done anything so I prepared a starter and opened up the pack to dump it in and caught a whiff of the worst smell I've smelt in a long time. Smelled like gym socks, mold, and puke all in one. Obviously the pack went in the trash but now I need to find an alternative. I have a vile of white labs wlp920 Old Bavarian Lager Yeast for another beer I'm doing soon. Do you think this will be an ok yeast to use in this beer. I was hoping forth clean finish that the German yeast was going to give. Is this yeast going to yield VERY different results or will it suffice?

I should say that if I have to I will drive down to the LHBS in the morning but would like to avoid the 2 hour round trip.
