I have a new yeast, one I've never tried before, Danish Lager. It smells very different than other yeasts I've used in the past, but I put it in a starter and it seams to be doing its thing just fine. Anyone know if Danish Lager by wyeast just has a funny smell or is this an indicator that somethings wrong?

Lager yeasts are known for very sulfury smells.

I thought my Maibock using WYeast #2278 was spoiled with the nasty smells coming from the primary. But turns out that smell was normal, and did not effect the beer in any way.

That only relative to the conversation if she was Danish. :D

Probably not relative but I felt like sharing.

Nah, Polish and bi-polar (manic/depressive, and obsessive/compulsive, and paranoid/delusional and schizophrenic-5 main and several more subtle, and funny smelling and... an ex-wife).

Adversity builds character and I've got character coming out my ears. And gray hair.

TMI, I know...
