Ok. Brewed a 1.060 beer using nottingham (first time using dry yeast) I typically reserve some of the slurry in mason jars for later use. Seems I didnt keep enough of the beer in the fermenter to swirl around and act as a bit of a cover over the top of the slurry. I did have another beer that was uncarbed at 1.056 similar in color (I often keep whatever beer i can fit in the keg in a bottle to cook with). I decided to add a few ml of the flat beer to each of the slurries to cover them a bit. Anyone see any issues on the horizon with this impromptu problem solving i just did?

As long as the beer is not infected you should be fine. I tend to use boiled water (cooled) or distilled water for this purpose to mitigate infection.
