Does this look like an infection?

picture link below. there are two pictures. Just click on prev. to see other pic.

I'm not sure how comforted you'll be by this since I say it in every case, but it's fine, it's not infected. What kind of Rogue was it?

Is this different than your other starters? It is a starter so it should be easy to decant/store this yeast and try again to see if you get different/same results?

It was from 3 Rogues American Amber bombers.

I've never seen this before in my starters, but I've never made a starter from bottle yeast before.

Whats wort protein and what's it doing in my starter! Is it bad for the yeast?

I've seen something similar, that speckling on the bottom. Depending on your wort, there might be some extra trub on the bottom. If it was a bacterial infection....you wouldn't be able to really see it. If it was a mold infection... it'll be most likely visible on the top. I wouldn't worry about it and it shouldn't be harmful to your yeast.

I was slightly worried when I saw the title of your thread as reading "yeast infection," and as I scrolled over the thread title I was slightly terrified when I saw that it started with "does this look like an infection? picture below"

Glad we're talking about beer here. It doesn't look like anything abnormal to me.
