If i harvest yeast from the bottom of the primary fermenter how long can i leave it in the first container i put it in? I just put 2 cups sterile water in the fermenter and then poured that (after i swirled it around) into a plastic half gallon container...

I ask cause i am heading to work and dont have to to let it seperate.... do u think i could put it in my 55 degree basement and it would be ok untill i got home 9 hours from now? if not its my first attempt so i wont be too bummed

In 9 hours the majority of the yeast will probably be back on the bottom of the jug. Just put it in the fridge and when you come back swirl it up and let it sit 30 minutes so the junk can settle.
